The Bible is exactly what it claims to be — the Word of God, the revelation of God's grace and truth to man.
The goals of Beth Haven Church are to proclaim the gospel message and build up believers in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. God's Word is powerful and able to equip believers to perform the things written in it (II Timothy 3:16-17). The cornerstone of our ministry is to "proclaim the word" (II Timothy 4:1-4). A verse-by-verse study of the Bible, in its entirety over time, will equip believers to apply the teachings of the Bible in their own lives as befitting their royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). Paul took his last breath on this earth early Friday morning surrounded by his loving family. He's now with his Savior. His funeral will be at 11:00 Wednesday morning at Beth Haven. The church will be open at 10:00. Be much in prayer for the family.
PLEASE NOTE - There will be no BBD or TBS classes the week of July 1-6.
Introducing our new classes! Notice the time change on Thursday evening's class.
Our Christology Conference was wonderful! Thank you to our speakers, Dr. Boyd, Dr. Bush, and Dr. Smith, for teaching us more about who Christ is. Thanks to all who helped to make the conference possible. If you missed it, the classes are available online - https://bethhavenchurchkc.com/categories/6-19-christology/
The Christology conference is this weekend. Remember that we start at 9:30 on Sunday. We hope to see you there!
Will showed us that most of what is normally taught about Palm Sunday isn't scriptural. Listen here to his message about what the Bible tells us happened the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem. https://bethhavenchurchkc.com/sermons/palm-sunday-a-triumphal-entry/
Here is an email from Jenni M. explaining her dad’s most recent hospital stay: Tonight we had to make another trip to the Emergency Room with my Dad. He has been admitted to the hospital due to more pain and the inability to eat anything of substance for the past 3 days. We were concerned that it was a bowel obstruction due to these and other symptoms, but thankfully, the doctors are confident he doesn't have this problem. The current diagnosis is peritonitis due to fluid that is collecting in his abdomen. Basically, in his condition, it is not uncommon for fluid to build up in the abdomen, which then gets inflamed and infected. He has been put on antibiotics and has some pain management medications right now. When I left him about a half hour ago, he was pretty comfortable, and glad to be in the hospital where they can treat his abdominal distress and hopefully that will relieve his ever worsening symptoms. While I have hope that this will give him some relief, there isn't a guarantee that this will take away all of his pain. We don't know how long he will need to stay in the hospital, either. It could be more than one night. Please pray for my Dad, for his doctors, and for his wife. Every hospital stay is a very taxing situation, especially for Marie. Please pray that we will have wisdom as well as we consider all of the things that he is taking, or not taking, doing or not doing. It can get pretty confusing with all of the drugs, foods with protein, exercise needed, pain medication, etc. It is hard to know if you are encouraging him to do something that will help or hurt him. Thank you all for walking this path with us. Thank you for your prayers and love! By His Grace, Jenni
Paul M. has been admitted to NKC Hospital. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
If anyone has a wheelchair that Bill Lowe can borrow, please let Kelli know. Thanks!
With the weather conditions such as they are, the elders think it prudent to cancel classes this morning. Stay home, safe and warm, and think spring!!
Because of the probability of icy roads, the elders have decided to cancel class tonight. Stay warm and safe. And remember there is no class next week as well. The study of Exodus will resume on February 20.
So, another snow event here in KC! The parking lot has been cleared and salted. We will have class tonight. If you're comfortable getting out, we'd love to have you!
Many of the ladies at Beth Haven work on making hats throughout the year. Some of them go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. The rest of them go to the North Kansas City Parks & Recreation for their annual Feel the Warmth project. Thanks, ladies!
Don't forget our annual potluck dinner is this Sunday. We hope you're making plans to attend!
With the conference later that week, there will be no Wednesday night class on October 31.
A memorial service for Ted will be held at Beth Haven Church on Saturday, October 20, at 2:00 pm. https://parklawnfunerals.com/obituaries/roney-teddy-joe/
As you know, our church body has experienced tragedy several times in the last few weeks. Will taught two classes on Sunday about how to use doctrine to overcome circumstances, to both assure ourselves and to use in comforting others in times of tragedy. The classes were excellent and we encourage you to listen to them. The following link will take you right to them. https://bethhavenchurchkc.com/sermons/doctrine-overcomes-circumstances/
Sharing a post from one of Ted's many friends. She loved the day's end during trips to the lake listening to Ted play his guitar softly and sing. It was one of her favorite things about those trips -- We lost this beautiful, sweet, gentle, and Godly man this morning... hearts are broken but I know God has welcomed him with open arms ❤️I will miss him so but will see him again.
